The Reily Center’s main gym (basketball courts), indoor track, and natatorium are closed for extended maintenance and will reopen before the start of the fall 2025 semester.

We apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience as we continue to ensure the quality and safety of our facilities. Check our website, social media, and email alerts this summer for official reopening dates.

Training Package Descriptions

To reach your goals, you must know where you’re starting from. Fitness assessments and consultations are used to determine current fitness levels, training goals, and strategies for improvement. The fitness assessment is a 60-minute meeting that includes the following: body composition analysis, functional movement screening, and discussion based on client goals, exercise/medical history, client needs and wants, etc.

This assessment is required for all new clients and will serve as your first session in a multi-session package.

This two-session service includes a 60-minute fitness assessment and a 60-minute personal training session. The personal training session will focus on the results of the fitness assessment and target areas of improvement. You and your trainer will also discuss how they will provide workouts to help you reach your fitness goals while giving insight into their training style and expertise!

If you already workout regularly and feel you can motivate yourself but just need a program to follow, this is for you! A “Program Design” gives you a written 4-week workout plan (12 total workouts) that you can follow on your own, plus one individual personal training session and fitness consultation. A certified personal trainer will meet with you to determine your goals, then take you through your personalized workout to make sure you understand how to perform all the exercises correctly and safely, then hand off the workout for you to perform on your own.

Together, you and your personal trainer will develop a personalized exercise program based on your health history, goals, and fitness level. Your trainer will instruct you on proper technique and exercise options, as well as motivate you to achieve your health and fitness goals. Each session is approximately 60 minutes.

Partner training is limited to two clients. The price includes both clients. If a package is split between individuals with differing membership statuses, the higher prices apply to both clients.

Personal Training Policies

All personal training clients are required to have a current Tulane recreational center membership. Membership access is provided for both of our fitness facilities, Reily Student Recreation Center (uptown campus) and TU Fitness Center (downtown campus) with a valid recreational center membership and Splash card/ID provided.

Payment is due upon registration of personal training session or package. Once registration and payment are complete, please allow 3-7 business days for us to confirm a personal trainer match and provide an initial training start date. Payments for training services may be made through your ActiveNet online membership portal.

You will have two consecutive semesters, up to a total of 6 months to complete your personal training sessions. After the expiration date all remaining sessions will be invalid. Personal training sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable. If sessions must be discontinued due to medical reasons, clients may be eligible for a refund for incomplete sessions with medical documentation.

Reily Center: Meet your personal trainer on the main floor of the Reily Center near the front desk or in the general atrium seating area of the 1st floor.

TU Fit: Meet your personal trainer at the front desk entrance of the TU Fitness Center on the 1st floor of the Deming Building.

Please arrive on time for your personal training sessions. If you will arrive more than 5 minutes late, please contact the personal trainer and notify the front desk of the recreation center. You will forfeit time lost due to tardiness. All sessions will end 60 minutes after the originally scheduled start time. Personal trainers are expected to wait up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. As listed under cancelations, sessions are forfeited if canceled with less than 24 hours notice, this includes tardiness.

To cancel an appointment, clients must contact their personal trainers directly, at least 24 hours in advance. If your personal trainer isn’t notified within this time frame, the present session will be deducted from the session(s) you purchased. In this case, you will receive an email from your personal trainer stating this deduction.

There are no refunds for personal training except for the following:

  • Changes in medical condition that prohibit participation (must provide documentation).
  • We are unable to pair or continue your training due to availability.

As stated in the expiration policy, any sessions that are not used within a 6-month period are forfeited and cannot be transferred to another person.

Only personal trainers employed by Tulane Campus Recreation may provide personal training in our facilities. The use of Campus Recreation facilities for outside personal training is in direct competition with the personal training services that are offered in our facilities.
