Tulane Campus Recreation’s aquatic facilities include an Olympic-sized indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor Social Pool. Whether you’re interested in relaxing by the Social Pool, laying out on the sun deck, or swimming laps for exercise, our aquatics facilities offer the space and flexibility for various activities.

Become a Lifeguard with

Lifeguard Certification Courses

Summer 2026 lifeguard certification courses TBA.

Gain the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies through a combination of online learning and in-person skills sessions. Upon successful completion, participants will earn an American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED, which is valid for two years.

Participants who earn their certification with Tulane Campus Recreation will also have guaranteed employment at the Reily Center and a free gym membership.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are available for the Summer 2026 season!

Tulane Campus Recreation is committed to providing the community with swim lesson instruction and water safety knowledge. We offer a variety of lesson types, including group and private lessons for all ages, conducted by our certified swim instructors.

Our mission is to teach participants how to be safe in, on, and around the water. Our goal is to have our students feel comfortable in the water while staying safe and promoting lifelong healthy habits.

Children's Group Lessons

Available for ages 3 to 13. Group lessons are offered based on skill level:

  • Wave 1: Intro to Water Skills.
  • Wave 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills.
  • Wave 3: Stroke Development.
  • Waves 4 and 5: Stroke Refinement and Endurance.

Specialty Programs and Lessons
  • Parent and Child Lessons (ages 6 months to 3 years).
  • Adult Swim Foundations.

Private and Partner Lessons

One-on-one lessons with an instructor, for children and adults. Includes semi-private lessons for siblings.

Register for Swim Lessons

Members can register their children or themselves for a swim lesson by signing up for the lesson's waitlist on ActiveNet. Waitlisted participants will be contacted by Aquatics staff to confirm and schedule their lessons.

Non-members will need to create an account before registering.

Please note: if a lesson appears "Full," you can still sign up for the waitlist and contact our Aquatics team at aquatics@tulane.edu to confirm details.
