Fridays at Newcomb: Finding Your Home in the Reproductive Justice Movement

Friday March 8th 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Location: Uptown Campus

Join us for Fridays at Newcomb featuring guest speaker LaKia Williams, who will reflect on her career as a reproductive justice organizer, abortion advocate, and content creator and share how others can use their skills to be advocates for change. Williams is the host and producer of the Black Feminist Rants podcast, an independent reproductive justice podcast and digital platform that centers new voices in the reproductive justice and Black feminist movements. In addition to her work as a podcaster and storyteller, Williams is the vice-chair of ACCESS Reproductive Justice, California’s statewide abortion fund, and works to destigmatize abortion as the project manager for a traveling exhibit about self-managed abortion. Williams was awarded Newcomb Institute’s 30 Under 30 award for her work.   Listen and engage with LaKia on March 8 at 12 pm in the Diboll Gallery at Newcomb Institute, located on the third floor of the Malkin Sacks Commons. Lunch will be provided.
