Summer Maintenance/Memorial Day Closure

The Reily Student Recreation Center will be closed Saturday, May 27-Sunday, June 4, for summer maintenance.

The Tulane Fitness Center will be open during this time. As a reminder, the Tulane Fitness Center is only accessible to Tulane faculty, staff, and students with a valid Splash Card and a Tulane Campus Recreation membership. However, please note that the TU Fit will be closed Monday, May 29, for Memorial Day. 

The Reily Center will resume its hours of operation and group fitness schedule starting Monday, June 5.

Special Fitness Events

The Department of Campus Recreation proudly hosts some of the most popular and widely attended programs on campus.  Students can find late-night activities, unique fitness opportunities, outdoor adventures, and a lot of fun and excitement at TU Rec. See below for upcoming events put on by our Fitness Team.

All events are free for students with a valid Splash ID.

Upcoming 2022-2023 Events 

Free Fitness Assessments & Fitness Space Orientations

Get one-on-one time with our personal trainers to build your confidence in navigating the Weight Room and Functional Fitness Gym with our orientation that will introduce you to strength equipment and provide you with the general knowledge you need to get a full-body workout. The Fitness Assessment includes a body composition analysis, as well as flexibility, strength, and heart-rate evaluation. All patrons of the Reily Center and TU Fit are welcome to attend and benefit from this FREE bi-monthly service!  

Happening: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Atrium of the Reily Center or near the front desk at TU Fit.

Embodied Afrobeats

Let your body and breath guide you through the vibrations of Afrobeat, a genre that combines West African music with American funk and soul. Beats mixed by DJ Chill and movements facilitated by Dr. Jinaki Flint from the Counseling Center who is experienced in embodiment practices. This embodied Afrobeat experience is perfect for relieving stress through movement, breath, and mindfulness.

Happening: Tuesday, February 7th from 4:30- 6:30 PM on Brown Field.

Acro Yoga

This Valentine's Day, set a date with Campus Rec! We're partnering with Acro NOLA for an acrobatic yoga pop-up from 4:30- 6:00 PM on Brown Field*. Develop concentration, build trust, and challenge your core in this beginner-friendly class. You can come solo and meet new friends or bring your pals (acro is typically done in a group of three). LesMills BODYPUMP Initial Training

Get certified to teach LesMills BODYPUMP, the original barbell class that sculpts, strengthens and tones your entire body.

Discounts and  scholarships are available to current Tulane students.

Current Tulane students interested in scholarships or discounts and are available to work at Tulane Campus Recreation for at least two semesters following training should fill out an application here before January 27th. Three full scholarships are available for the Bodycombat training. Scholarship recipients will be announced February 3rd. Discount codes and instructions for 45% off regular price tickets will be provided to all other applicants eligible for the discount upon receipt of application. Please allow 72 hours for response.

Students who successfully complete their instructor training after this workshop can apply to start teaching at the Reily Student Recreation Center in the Summer or Fall 2023 semesters.

Bodypump Launch Party

Learn new choreography, and lifting techniques and hear new tracks with your favorite instructors at Campus Rec! Bodypump® is the original barbell class that will sculpt tone and strengthens your entire body by combining low weight loads with high repetition movements. Cool off after class with a chance to win exciting raffle prizes. Arrive early to secure your spot, limit of 40 participants.

Outdoor Yoga & S'mores

Treat yourself and stretch outdoors. The all-level yoga class will focus on mindful movement, meditation, stretching and relaxation.  After class, all participants are invited to build their own S’more with a perfectly roasted marshmallow from our fire pits.  Meet new people and learn about more opportunities to get involved with Outdoor Adventures and Fitness & Wellness.  All participants must bring a yoga mat or towel for class. Class is weather-dependent.

Group Exercise Leaderboard Challenge

In this challenge get recognized for taking group exercise classes and track your progress on the 'leaderboards' (updated each week).  Fill out a card for every class you attend from April 11th to the end of the month. All entries will be entered into a raffle for a yoga mat and other prizes. 

  • Tuesday, April 11th – Sunday, April 30th  

Roll + Flow: Foam Rolling and Yoga Workshop 

Learn and practice the basics of gentle myofascial release paired with yoga postures and sequences to relax your body and muscles. End class with restorative poses and guided relaxation. Props will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes.

Puppies and Pilates Study Break

Join Campus Recreation and Take Paws for a stress free afternoon. Take Paws will be bringing puppies for pets and cuddles from 10:00am to 12:30pm. Pilates begins at 10:00 am on Brown Field.
