Join TU Rec Outdoor Adventures for our popular beach camping adventure to Grand Isle. We will camp right on the sand, hike along a beautiful gulf shore barrier island, relax on the beach, and try stand-up paddleboarding. Trip cost includes food, transportation, activity fees, equipment, and leadership.

Join Tulane Outdoor Adventures for a scenic and serene meditation and yoga session on the Pontchartrain Lakefront just 20 minutes from campus. Roll out your yoga mat near the Yacht Club and enjoy the golden hour with peace of mind and body. We will leave Tulane at 4:30pm and return by 9pm. Cost includes transportation, yoga mats, and leadership.

Once the only form of transportation through Louisiana swampland, canoeing is now a popular form of outdoor recreation. Join Tulane Outdoor Adventures as we give it a whirl on the waters of Bayou St. John. Come prepared to get a little wet and have a lot of fun! Cost includes transportation, equipment, and leadership.

Join Tulane Outdoor Adventures for a relaxing float down the Bogue Chitto River. Drift along the banks, dip your toes in the cool water, and take in the natural beauty of the Gulf South. After a few hours of blissful floating, we will stop for lunch on a sandbar before diving back in to let the calm current carry our worries away. Indulge yourself in this tranquil day under the sun before the back-to-school rush kicks in. Cost includes transportation, food, equipment, and leadership.

No freshman could gain the dreaded "Freshman 15" after backpacking 15 miles through Mississippi forests with Tulane Outdoor Adventures! Backpacking is one of the better ways to get off campus, meet new friends, and relax in nature for the weekend. This trip is offered exclusively to freshmen looking to find fellow outdoors enthusiasts after settling into the first few weeks of school. No prior backpacking experience required. Cost includes transportation, food, equipment, and leadership. 

Lace up your running shoes and bring your Tulane pride for a colorful 3-mile fun run/walk through campus.  Participants start on the A-quad dressed in bright white and finish the race plastered in shades of blue and green. Not a runner? Join in the homecoming second line party for a .5 mile strut through the uptown campus. Spend the night rock climbing with Outdoor Adventures at a local climbing gym. Whether you’re a pro or have always wanted to try it out, we’ll have the perfect climb waiting for you. Bring a friend or meet someone new. Transportation, climbing fees, and equipment are provided at no cost to you.

Tulane Campus Rec has teamed up with Take Paws Rescue to bring you the cuddliest yoga of the season! This fun class will teach you techniques to let go of tension, build body awareness, and clear your mind—all while puppies give you unconditional love. This is an all-levels class and beginners are welcomed and encouraged! Bring a yoga mat or towel for class. Class is weather-dependent, please check website and/or TU Rec app for updates.

Take a study break and hang out with TU Outdoor Adventures on the Berger Family Lawn while we roast up some s’mores around the fire pits.
